What started as a school project has become our mission. Back in our entrepreneurship class at NEOMA Business School, we were tasked with developing a business idea from scratch. We could have left it at that; just another grade, another semester behind us. But something stuck. The more we worked on NoteBuddy, the more we realized it addressed a real pain point in modern professional life. That class project became a seed of something far greater: a vision for transforming how we approach meetings, productivity, and time itself.
From Brainstorm to Blueprint
The idea behind NoteBuddy came from a simple yet universal frustration: meetings are often inefficient. Too much time is spent scribbling down notes, trying to remember action items, and toggling between multiple apps (calendar, note-taking tools, task managers, email threads). Somewhere along the way, productivity becomes performative. We’re busy organizing work instead of doing it.
We began by asking questions, a lot of them. We spoke to professionals across industries like project managers, consultants, entrepreneurs, HR leads, freelancers basically anyone whose days revolve around meetings. What we heard was consistent: the tools meant to make meetings smoother were fragmenting the experience. The digital workplace had become cluttered, and no one had time to manage the clutter.
Finding the Gap
We realized there was no truly centralized, intelligent assistant designed to streamline the entire meeting workflow—from preparation to follow-up. Some tools helped with note-taking. Others helped with calendars. A few tried to do both, but not in a way that truly saved time. The paradox we observed was that productivity tools often require so much setup and maintenance, they end up consuming more time than they save.

This journey has already taught us more than we expected. About business. About founding a company. About listening, really listening,to the needs behind the feedback. We’ve learned to embrace iteration, to challenge assumptions, and to be patient with the process. We’ve also learned that good ideas mean nothing without execution, persistence, and a deep understanding of the people you're building for.
Looking ahead
We're still at the beginning. NoteBuddy is growing, adapting, and becoming sharper with every test, every feedback session, every challenge. But our core motivation remains unchanged: to help professionals reclaim their time, one meeting at a time.
